So you’ve decided on your first tattoo? From the moment you walk into the Rīgas Tinte studio to the moment you walk out the door with your fresh tattoo, we want to give you nothing but the best experience!
The Pain: What to Expect
First, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – pain. We won’t hide it – tattoos are associated with a certain amount of discomfort. But hey, pain is subjective! Some people say it feels like a cat scratching, while others compare tattooing to epilating. The main conclusion? Tattoos on the arm hurt the least, so it’s a good idea to get your first tattoos on your arms or to start with a small tattoo.
Location
When it comes to getting your first tattoo, location is very important. Think about where you would like to see your tattoo every day. Keep your lifestyle and career in mind, but ultimately the best location is the one that feels right for you.

Booking a tattoo session:
Are you ready to turn your idea into a tattoo? Great! Rīgas Tinte has made the booking process as easy as possible. You can: come in on the spot, fill out our online booking form, send us an email or call the studio number to arrange an appointment.
Getting ready for the big day? A few things to keep in mind:
Get a good night’s sleep and have a meal at least one hour before you arrive. Your body will use a lot of energy during the tattooing process.
Do not use alcohol or drugs! Under the influence of these substances, your tattoo session will be refused!
Wash yourself and choose comfortable clothing appropriate for the tattoo session. If you will be tattooing your legs, it is a good idea to bring shorts or a skirt. If you are getting a shoulder tattoo, wear a short-sleeved shirt.
Ladies, if possible, try not to schedule a session during your period; this can increase the pain.
Feel free to bring a friend for moral support, but let’s not turn it into a party; one friend is enough. Do not bring minor children, as there will be no one to look after them during the session.
Conclusion
Getting your first tattoo is a big event and by following a few prerequisites you will make the experience a memorable and enjoyable process!
